This eBike is Foldable

Cliensy electric bike is a foldable e-bike. Therefore, it will be easier and more convenient for you to store it when it’s not in use, or you can carry it when traveling. Assembling a Cliensy Electric Bike is Easy

Cliensy has a direct-to-the-point assembly guide, making it easier for owners to understand. If you are someone who follows directions easily, then assembling the Cliensy e-bike is relatively simple. Additionally, if bought on Amazon, you can take advantage of their expert assembly before checking out. However, you will have to pay the extra charge of $125 per unit.

There are Three Cycling Modes to Choose From

Because of its pedal assist and throttle, you can ride your Cliensy electric bike in three different cycling modes. You can choose to ride fully electric (eBike mode), with pedal assistance from the motor (Assisted Bicycle mode), or mainly pedaling (Bicycle mode).

In e-bike cycling mode, you can engage the motor by twisting the throttle. This mode is perfect if you feel lazy and don’t want to pedal at all. To learn more about the electric bike throttle, check out our article “What is the Difference Between Pedal Assist and Throttle?”

On the other hand, in assisted-bicycle mode, the motor will engage when you start to pedal, giving you the assist you need. Cliensy has 5-levels of pedal assist to choose from. The higher the pedal-assist level, the greater the assistance the motor provides. This mode is perfect for those people who would like to have a good workout while putting less effort into pedaling. To learn how to get a good workout with an e-bike, read our article “Workout on Electric Bike (Lose Weight and Maximize Fitness).”

In bicycle mode, you will be pedaling your electric bike for your entire ride, just like riding a traditional bicycle. Riding your Cliensy electric bike in this mode can give you an impressive workout. However, it can be tiresome because there will be no assistance from the motor.

The 350W Motor Power is Good Enough for City and Tour Rides

Riding on smooth surfaces does not necessarily require using a very powerful motor. Unless you are carrying a heavy load or riding on hills most of the time, the 350W will work just fine.

Cliensy Can be Ridden Legally on Streets

Cliensy has a 350W motor and can go up to 19 mph (30.6 kmh), making it street legal in most states in the United States. However, you still must be mindful of your state and local laws regarding electric bikes. If you are interested in the legality of e-bikes in various states, visit our article “Are Electric Bikes Street Legal (Detailed Info: All 50 States).” The 19 mph (30.6 kmh) top speed prevents you from riding your electric bike too fast, which could result in severe injuries.

It Can Carry a Pretty Heavy Load

As per the product specifications, Cliensy electric bikes can handle as much as 330 lbs (149.7 kg). This could be a considerable advantage, especially if you are a heavy rider or would love to carry loads on your electric bike ride. However, though it has an impressive weight capacity, you still have to think twice before taking a heavy load with you. That is because you might experience difficulty in pedaling when you are in assisted-bicycle mode or bicycle mode. Furthermore, this could significantly affect the range of your electric bike.

Cliensy Foldable Electric Bike is Not Heavy

Though not the lightest, this electric bike is still on the light side, weighing only 58 lbs (26.3 kg). Because it is not too heavy, this eBike gives you an easy and comfortable ride that is not too difficult to get up and down steps.

It has a 21-Speed Shimano Gearing

Choosing the right gear can make your ride more comfortable. The 21-speed gearing gives you multiple gear options, allowing you to have more control over your electric bike’s speed when riding on varying terrains. If you want to learn more about electric bike gears, check out our article “Electric Bike Gears (Do You Need, How Many, How It Works).”

Cliensy is Equipped with an LED Headlamp and Horn for Your Safety

The bright LED headlamp of the Cliensy electric bike allows you to see and be seen in the dark. The horn enables you to warn others of your approach and presence. These safety components reduce your risk of being involved in accidents. Of course, no one would wish to have an accident, so always ride safely.

The 26-Inch Wheels Provide Impressive Riding Quality

Because 26-inch wheels are wide, they can maintain the momentum of the electric bike for a more extended period. As a result, these wheels work well when riding on rough terrain. To see the comparison between 20-inch and 26-inch wheels, read our article “20-Inch vs. 26-Inch Electric Bike Wheels (The Real Difference).”

It has 1-Year Limited Warranty

A one-year warranty may not be enough for you. However, one year is still one year. Therefore, you have time to contact the seller if you discover any issue with your Cliensy electric bike. In fact, most electric bike manufacturers offer either a 1-year or 2-year limited warranty. Furthermore, if your Cliensy foldable e-bike has any manufacturer defects, it is highly likely that you will discover it within a year of riding your eBike.

What are the Downsides of the Cliensy Electric Bike?

  • The range is only 19-31 miles (30.6-49.9 km).
  • Mechanical disc brakes are not as good as hydraulic brakes.
  • The 350W might not be enough if you ride on hilly and rough terrains.
  • 31% of reviews are negative.
  • Cliensy Electric Bikes tend not to last for that long.
  • The assembly instructions included are not for the e-bike purchased in some instances.

The Range is Only 19-31 Miles (30.6-49.9 Km)

A Cliensy foldable electric bike cannot get you as far as you want in some scenarios. This is because it only has an approximately 288WH battery capacity, which is too small to take you to distant places.

If you ride your Cliensy electric bike in e-bike mode, the highest possible range you can attain is up to 19 miles (30.6 km). On the other hand, if you use the assisted bicycle mode, you can ride your electric bike up to 31 miles (49.9 km).

In most cases, 19-31 miles (30.6-49.9 km) of range is only enough for short rides or daily commuting tasks. However, if you would like to ride your electric bike much longer, you can choose to charge your electric bike on the go. Check out our article “Charging eBike on the Go (Car Battery, Inverter, Power Bank, Solar).”

Mechanical Disc Brakes are Not as Good as Hydraulic Brakes

Though mechanical disc brakes are good, they are still quite behind hydraulic brakes in terms of stopping power, efficiency, and heat management.

bike mechanical brakes

While it’s true that mechanical disc brakes are less expensive and easier to repair, we can’t deny that hydraulic brakes perform well in several aspects. They are more efficient, have better heat management, have greater braking power, perform well in various weather conditions, and do not require regular maintenance. Check out the article entitled “Best Ebike Hydraulic Brakes (We Tested the Top 9),”

The 350W Might Not be Enough if You Ride on Hilly and Rough Terrains

The 200W-350W motor is enough when riding on smooth surfaces. However, this may not be enough power to perform really well when riding on more challenging terrains, including hilly, muddy, and rocky surfaces.

31% Of Reviews About Cliensy eBikes Are Negative

As of this writing, the Cliensy electric bike has a 3.5 out of 5-star rating on Amazon:

  • 61% rated four and five stars.
  • 31% rated two and one stars.
  • 8% rated three stars.

Though positive reviews are high, we can’t deny that the amount of negative reviews should be taken into consideration.

Cliensy Foldable Electric Bikes Do Not Last Long

There are lots of consumers who do not recommend buying this electric bike. Some of these negative reviews stated that various parts of this electric bike are easily broken, including the pedals, crank handle, gear shifter, and chain. Furthermore, some reviews state that there are sometimes missing parts, and their customer service was not very responsive. Some consumers said that their Cliensy electric bikes did not even last six months.

The Assembly Instructions Included are Not for the eBike Purchased

The assembly instructions were very straightforward. However, some buyers were given assembly instructions for a different electric bike.

Choosing the right electric bike depends on your own personal preference. While some affordable e-bikes are highly reliable, it is not true for all cheap electric bikes. So, you have to think about whether this electric bike fits your needs, or whether you need to save a bit more for a better electric bike.
