When I saw the RadMini and Aventon Sinch folding electric bike models, they caught my interest. I researched and compared RadMini and Aventon Sinch across various aspects and outlined my finding below.

As a whole, if you are looking for an affordable folding electric bike, buying either a RadMini Step-Thru 2 or a RadMini 4 would be a wise decision. They only cost around $1,444.87 (CAD 1,849). 

In total, if you want an e-bike with greater maximum weight capacity, we recommend going with an Aventon Sinch folding electric bike. It has a maximum weight capacity of 300 pounds, so you can carry a decent-sized load with you.

As a whole, the RadMini folding electric bike is cheaper than the Aventon Sinch foldable electric bike. RadMini folding e-bikes cost around $1,444.87 (CAD 1,849), whereas Aventon Sinch folding e-bikes are sold for $1,699-$1,799 (CAD 2,188-2,316).

Rad Power has two RadMini electric bike models: RadMini Step-Thru Version 2 and RadMini Version 4. These two RadMini folding electric bike models are sold for $1,444.87 (CAD 1,849).

RadMini Step-Thru Version 2 and RadMini Version 4 are made of similar materials. They also have the same motor power and battery capacity. However, one of the observable differences between the two is the design of their frames. The RadMini Step-Thru Version 2 has a low-step frame, while the RadMini Version 4 does not.

Aventon also has two models of Aventon Sinch folding e-bikes: the Aventon Sinch and Aventon Sinch Step-Through. The Aventon Sinch costs $1,699, whereas the Aventon Sinch Step-Through is $1,799. 

One observable difference between these two is the design of their frames. Aventon Sinch has a step-over frame, while Aventon Sinch Step-Through has a step-through frame.

Range: RadMini vs. Aventon Sinch

As a general rule, the RadMini folding electric bike has an average range of 25-45 miles (40-72 km) on a single battery charge. On the other hand, the Aventon Sinch folding e-bike has an average range of 40 miles (64 km).

Despite having different average ranges based on the information available on their respective websites, RadMini and Aventon Sinch actually have the same battery capacity of 672 Wh.

The previously mentioned range can be significantly affected by various factors such as the pedal-assist level, riding style, rider’s weight, and terrain type. Furthermore, continuously going full-throttle will substantially decrease your eBikes range.

Motor Power: Rad Mini vs. Aventon Sinch

On average, there is no significant difference in the motor power of the RadMini folding electric bike and the Aventon Sinch folding electric bike. Both can provide 500 watts of motor power, enough to ride up a decent incline.

Both Aventon Sinch and RadMini folding electric bikes use 500-watt brushless hub motors with 80 newton-meter torque. As a result, their motors can provide a smooth, consistent, and powerful ride on steep inclines.

Running Cost: RadMini vs. Aventon Sinch

As a whole, the RadMini folding electric bike has an average running cost of $0.28-$0.65 per charge, while the Aventon Sinch folding electric bike has an average running cost of $0.37-$0.46 per charge. Thus, there is little difference in the running costs of these e-bikes.

Before we can compute the running cost of each electric bike, we must know the following details about each bike:

  1. Watt-hour capacity of battery
  2. Charging time
  3. Electricity rate in your area

Both RadMini and Aventon Sinch have battery capacities of 672 Wh. Though they have the same battery capacity, the RadMini folding electric bike says that the average charging time of their battery packs is between 3 and 7 hours. On the other hand, the Aventon Sinch batteries require 4-5 hours of charging time.

As of April 2022, the average electricity rate in the United States was $0.1372. However, this rate may be higher or lower depending on your state. Visit the Choose Energy website to learn more about the electricity rate in each state. 

To compute the running cost, we will use the formula below:

Cost of Charging e-bike= [(Voltage X Ah)/1000]X(rate of charge per KWh)X(hours of charge)

Suppose we are going to use the equation mentioned above. In that case, we can say that the average running cost of the RadMini folding electric bike is $0.28-$0.65 on a single charge, whereas the Aventon Sinch has an average running cost of $0.37-$0.46 on a single charge.

Maintenance Cost: RadMini vs. Aventon Sinch

As a general rule, there is no significant difference between the maintenance costs of RadMini and Aventon Sinch folding electric bikes. Regardless of the brand, most professional mechanics charge $150 for the service fee.

The $150 service fee that professional mechanics usually charge does not include the cost of replacing e-bike parts. The fee depends on the complexity of your e-bike issue. 

For example, if your e-bike needs either motor or battery replacement, then expect to pay around $500 for the cost of these parts. Fortunately, the newly-bought battery and the motor have an average life span of 2-5 years.
