Hyper eBike Review (All Electric Bikes Compared)
The Hyper e-bike brand caught my interest. They sell electric bikes at very affordable prices. So, I researched and compared Hyper e-bike models to learn whether their electric bikes could provide a quality ride at a low price.
As a whole, the cost of Hyper electric bike models ranges from $499 to $1,498. The most affordable Hyper e-bike model is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike, while the most expensive is the 29-inch Hyper E-Ride mountain mid-drive MTB-DS e-bike.
On average, almost all Hyper electric bike models have an average range of 20 miles (32.2 km) on a single charge. The only Hyper e-bike model with fewer than 20 miles (32.2 km) of range is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike.
In total, almost all Hyper electric bike models have a nominal motor power of 250 watts. The only Hyper e-bike model with a nominal motor power greater than 250 watts is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike.
We created a table below outlining the similarities and differences between all of the Hyper electric bike models. So, if you are interested to learn more about these e-bikes, keep reading.

Cost of Purchase: Hyper Electric Bike Models
As a general rule, Hyper electric bike models are affordable. The cost of their electric bikes ranges from $499 to $1,498. The cheapest model is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike, while the most expensive is the 29-inch Hyper E-Ride mountain mid-drive MTB-DS e-bike.
The most expensive model of Hyper e-bikes is the Hyper E-Ride mountain mid-drive MTB-DS e-bike, which only costs $1,498. It may be the most costly among the Hyper e-bike models, but its price will certainly not empty your wallet. This $1,498 electric bike is way more affordable than most quality electric bikes on the market.
Some features of the Hyper E-Ride mountain mid-drive MTB-DS e-bike model include the following.
- Range of 20 miles (32.2 km) on a single charge
- 250 watts of nominal motor power
- 20 mph (32.2 kmh) top speed
- 275 lbs. (124.7 kg) maximum weight capacity
- Dual-suspension frame
- Front suspension fork
- Premium padded seat with quick-release clamp
These features will provide a more comfortable, smoother, and enjoyable riding experience.
However, if you are looking for the lowest-priced Hyper e-bike model, you can choose the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike for only $499. The features of this electric bike include the following.
- Nominal motor power of 350 watts
- Range of up to 15 miles (24.2 km) on a single charge
- 231 lbs. (104.8 kg) of maximum weight capacity
- Foldable handlebar and pedals
- Premium adjustable seat
- LED headlight and taillight
Furthermore, this electric bike is equipped with pedal assist and a throttle. This means that you can choose not to pedal if you rely solely on using the throttle. Additionally, this 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike is suitable for ages 14+.
Motor Power: Hyper Electric Bike Models
As a whole, most of the Hyper electric bike models have a nominal motor power of 250 watts. The only model with a different level of motor power is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike model. This electric bike has a nominal motor power of 350 watts.
Though the motor power of most Hyper e-bikes is only 250 watts, it can still provide you with enough assistance when riding your electric bike for commuting. It can also help propel your electric bike up decent-sized inclines, but it may have difficulty on higher and longer hills. On higher inclines, you may need to combine your eBike’s motor assistance with some active pedaling.
Range: Hyper Electric Bike Models
On average, most Hyper electric bike models have an average range of 20 miles (32.2 km) on a single charge. Your electric bike may go longer than the estimated range depending on several factors affecting your ride.
Regardless of brand, the range of any electric bike is affected by such factors as:
- Payload’s total weight
- Type of terrain
- Riding style
- Pedal-assist level
- Weather conditions
When ridden under normal conditions and circumstances, most Hyper electric models can travel up to 20 miles (32.2 km) on a single charge.
However, for the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike model, its average range is around 15 miles (24.1 km). That is because this Hyper e-bike model has the lowest battery capacity of only 216Wh. Additionally, this electric bike has a throttle which could drain your battery more quickly when compared to just using pedal-assist.
If you think the 20-mile (32.2-km) range isn’t enough for your adventure, you can choose to charge your electric bike on the go. Read our article “Charging eBike on the Go (Car Battery, Inverter, Power Bank, Solar)” to learn more.
Running Cost: Hyper Electric Bike Models
As a general rule, the running cost of Hyper e-bike models ranges from $0.13 to $0.22 on a single charge. They have different running costs because their battery capacities vary. They have battery capacities of either 216Wh, 281Wh, 374Wh, or 378Wh.
In computing the running cost of an electric bike, you must know the following details.
- Battery Capacity
- Charging time
- Electricity rate
The battery capacity of an electric bike can be computed by multiplying the Amp-hour and Voltage of the battery.
The 29-inch Hyper E-Ride mountain mid-drive MTB-DS e-bike is the Hyper e-bike model with the highest battery capacity of 378Wh (36V 10.5 Ah). On the other hand, the Hyper e-bike model with the lowest battery capacity of 216Wh is the 14-inch Hyper E-Ride compact e-bike.
Despite having different battery capacities, all Hyper e-bike models have a charging time of four hours.
As of June 2022, the average electricity rate in the United States is $0.1447. However, the electricity rate varies in different states. You can check the electric rate in your state on Choose Energy website.
To compute the running cost, we will use the equation below.
Cost of Charging e-bike= [(Voltage X Ah)/1000] X (rate of charge per KWh) X (hours of charge)
Following the equation above, we can compute the average running cost of a Hyper e-bike model to range from $0.13-$0.22.
Maintenance Cost: Hyper Electric Bike Models
In total, there is no significant difference in the maintenance cost of Hyper electric bike models. These electric bikes may have an average annual maintenance cost of $150, excluding the cost of parts that need replacement.
Maintaining an electric bike can significantly prolong its lifespan, and you can continue using it at its peak.
