I was thinking of buying an electric cargo bike, and I couldn’t decide between purchasing a Blix Packa or a RadWagon. So I did what I do best.  I got my hands on both eBikes and compared them side by side and outlined their similarities, differences, and key attributes below.

In total, if you want your e-cargo bike to have a higher weight capacity, we recommend the Blix Packa e-bike. The maximum load capacity of the Blix Packa is 400lbs, which is 50lbs higher than the weight capacity of the RadWagon e-bike.

As a general rule, if you want to buy an e-cargo electric bike that has the option of having a dual battery for a more extended range, you should select the Blix Packa. Its dual battery has a total combined capacity of 1,228Wh, enabling you to reach up to 80 miles on a single trip. 

As a whole, if you are looking for an e-cargo bike that has a more extended range,  a RadWagon would be the best electric bike for you. Its battery has a capacity of 672Wh, which could help you travel up to 45+ miles on a single charge.

Maximum Weight Capacity: RadWagon Vs. Blix Packa

On average, the maximum weight capacity of the Blix Packa is 50 lbs higher than the maximum weight capacity of the RadWagon. The RadWagon has a 350 lbs weight capacity, whereas Blix Packa has a 400 lbs weight capacity.

If you are looking for an electric cargo bike with a higher maximum weight capacity, we recommend the Blix Packa e-cargo bike. The Blix Packa has a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs. Furthermore, the rear rack of the Blix Packa can carry up to 150 lbs.

The RadWagon has a maximum weight capacity of 350 lbs. Though its capacity is 50 lbs lower than Blix Packa’s, RadWagon is still a great choice. RadWagon also has a rear rack with a maximum weight capacity of 120 lbs.

Purchase Cost: RadWagon Vs. Blix Packa

As a whole, there is no significant difference in the purchase cost of a RadWagon and a Blix Packa eBike. The RadWagon and Blix Packa are electric cargo bikes that only cost around $1,999. But, if you purchase a Blix Packa e-cargo bike with a dual battery, it will cost you $2,299.

For only $1,999, you can buy either a RadWagon or Blix Packa e-cargo bike. However, if you purchase additional upgrades for your e-bike, the price will be higher than $1,999.

For example, Blix Packa has an option for a dual battery. With two batteries, Blix Packa would cost $2,299. You can also add additional accessories. RadWagon does not have an option for a dual battery, but you can add accessories such as a front rack, and basket, along with other upgrades.

Range: RadWagon Vs. Blix Packa

As a general rule, the RadWagon e-cargo bike has a range of up to 45 miles on a single charge. On the other hand, Blix Packa has a range of up to 40 miles on a single charge. Blix Packa can travel as far as 80 miles with a dual battery.

Regardless of the brand, the max range of e-bikes may be shorter or longer than the stated range, depending on several factors such as the rider’s weight, riding style, type of terrain, and the level of pedal assist used. On average, the RadWagon e-cargo bike has an average running cost of $0.65 per charge. In contrast, the average running cost of the Blix Packa e-cargo bike is $0.50 for a single charge. If your Blix Packa has a dual battery, the running cost may be as high as $1.01 per charge.

The running cost of your e-bike will directly depend on the charging cost of your e-bike battery. To compute the charging cost, we must know the following information: Voltage, Amp, or Watt-hour of the e-bike battery, rate of electricity per kWh, and the charging time of your e-bike battery.

After knowing the details mentioned above, we should use the formula below to calculate the charging cost of your electric bike.

Cost of Charging e-bike= [(Voltage X Ah)/1000]X(rate of charge per KWh)X(hours of charge)

The RadWagon has 672Wh of battery capacity with an average charging time of 7 hours. On the other hand, Blix Packa has 614Wh of battery capacity with 6 hours of charging time.

As of April 2022, the average electricity rate in the United States is $0.1372 KWh. However, this rate may vary across different states (Source).

By following the equation mentioned above, the RadWagon has a running cost of around $0.65 for a single charge. On the other hand, the average running cost of the Blix Packa is $0.50 per charge. However, if your Blix Packa has a dual battery, then your running cost might be as high as $1.01 per charge.

Maintenance Cost: RadWagon Vs. Blix Packa

As a whole, there is no significant difference between the maintenance cost of RadWagon and Blix Packa e-cargo bikes. Regardless of the brand, servicing your e-bike may cost you an average of $150 for labor. This estimate does not include the cost of parts.

Regardless of the brand, the service fee of most professional mechanics is around $150. This estimate may be higher or lower depending on the complexity of the issue your e-bike has and where the eBike mechanic is located. However, if you have a RadWagon e-bike, you can bring your e-bike to any one of their service centers for a free diagnosis.

As a whole, there is no significant difference between the motor power of a RadWagon and a Blix Packa electric bike. These electric cargo bikes both have a nominal motor power of 750 watts, which makes climbing hills a lot easier.

As a general rule, both RadWagon and Blix Packa electric cargo bikes can last around 5 to 10 years of riding. Regardless of the brand, electric bikes can last that long if maintained and used correctly.

Any electric bike, if well-maintained, can last longer than expected. But, of course, you might need to replace some parts because they wear and tear naturally over time.

Reliability: RadWagon Vs. Blix Packa

On average, RadWagon and Blix Packa are both reliable e-cargo bikes. As of this writing, most electric ride owners have not experienced any significant issues when riding their RadWagon or Blix Packa electric cargo bike.

No electric bike is perfect. Regardless of the brand, an e-bike may incur damages when they are packed and shipped. Fortunately, when bought new, most electric bikes are covered by a limited warranty. So, if you received a damaged e-bike, you can contact each company’s respective warranty department and request details on what they can do to either fix or replace your eBike.

How Fast Does the Blix Packa Go?

As a general rule, Blix Packa can go up to 20mph. Blix Packa is an electric cargo bike with pedal-assist and throttle, and it falls under Class 2 e-bikes. Class 2 e-bikes have a speed limit of 20mph in most states.

How Do You Charge Blix Packa?

As a general rule, you can charge your Blix Packa by simply plugging it into any regular outlet. You have two options when charging your Blix Packa: charging the battery when it is mounted or when it is removed.

It is a very easy process to charge your Blix Packa. All you have to do is plug your battery directly into any regular outlet. After plugging your battery in, you just have to wait for a few hours for it to become completely charged. Do not forget to unplug the charger from the outlet when your battery is full because you could potentially damage your e-bike battery by overcharging it.

Where are Blix Electric Bikes Made?

As a general rule, Blix electric bikes are made in the United States. Their warehouse is located in Santa Cruz, California, USA, but all their electric bikes are assembled in Asia. Blix is one of the fastest-growing e-bike manufacturers.

Blix was founded in 2014 in Santa Cruz, California. Blix is a direct-to-consumer company, so you can buy their e-bikes directly on their website.

How do I Turn on Blix Packa?

As a whole,  you can turn on a Blix Packa electric bike by moving the switch to the “l” position on the battery. Then, press and hold the mode button for two seconds to turn on the display. If your e-bike is not used within 10 minutes, the display will automatically turn off.
