Aspects to Look for in a Fat Tire Electric Beach Cruiser
As a whole, beach cruisers are mainly used for recreational and leisure cycling. Therefore, when purchasing an e-bike cruiser, it is important to consider the following aspects :
- A relaxed riding position
- A comfortable saddle
- Fat tires
A Relaxed Riding Position Helps You Avoid Back Pains
One of the red flags of cycling is the possibility of experiencing back pains, especially when riding for an extended period. Since most cruisers are used for leisure, they must be comfortable enough to ride on. Therefore, it is best to choose an e-bike cruiser that enables you to sit upright. An upright riding position places the spine in a comfortable and natural position. If the design of your e-bike beach cruiser does not allow you to sit in this position, you can still ride your electric bike comfortably if you have the correct posture.
A Comfortable Saddle is Essential to Avoid Discomfort When Riding
Since you will be sitting most of the time when riding, your electric bike beach cruiser must have a comfortable saddle. It must be wide enough for you and should not cause stress and discomfort on your bottom area.
Fat Tires Provide Greater Stability
Since we are talking about a fat tire electric bike beach cruiser, one thing you must look at is the tires. Fat tires have sizes of 3.5 inches or more or not less than 3.3 inches. Fat tires improve your electric bike’s comfort, stability, and rollover ability. Furthermore, fat tires have larger contact patches with the ground, optimizing their performance, traction, and grip.
You might also want to consider having an e-bike beach cruiser with a longer range. When riding for leisure, there are times that you wouldn’t expect that you have already ridden for hours. In that case, it would be best to have a beach cruiser with a longer range. Additionally, you might want to consider having a suspension fork and powerful motor. While electric bike beach cruisers are best ridden on smooth roads, if you have a powerful motor and a suspension fork, you can ride your electric bike well on different terrains if you want to.

Can I Put Fat Tires on My Beach Cruiser?
As a whole, you can put fat tires on your beach cruiser, but it would be a challenge. Installing wider tires on your beach cruiser can be challenging because most of their rims are generally intended for narrower tires.
You can install wide tires if, and only if, the rims of your beach cruiser can accommodate the size of the fat tires or replace your cruiser rims with wider one. However, when replacing wider tires, make sure to have adequate clearance within your frame. Without adequate clearance, your tires may rub when you come across bumps or under hard acceleration.
To getan idea of how to install a wider tire on a smaller rim, watch the video below.
How Much Does an Electric Fat Bike Cost?
On average, most highly-reliable electric fat bikes cost more than $1,000. The price does not depend solely on the tires, but also on the other components. Remember, the price is not always a guarantee of having a highly-efficient and reliable e-bike.
Remember, not all expensive fat-tire electric bikes have superb performance and efficiency, and not all relatively cheap fat-tire e-bikes are not at par with those expensive ones. For instance, one electric bike company that sells efficient and reliable fat tire e-bikes is Lectric Ebikes.

What is The Fastest Fat Tire eBike?
As a general rule, the fastest fat tire e-bike we’ve encountered is the HPC Revolution AT. It is a moped electric fat tire bike specifically made for off-road riding and has a top speed of up to 45 mph (72kmh) if you choose the 3,000W motor.
HPC Revolution AT has four motor options: 1,500W, 2,000W, 2,500W, and 3,000W. Each motor option can provide a different maximum speed, as shown in the table below.
1,500W | 30 mph (48 kmh) |
2,000W | 35 mph (56 kmh) |
2,500W | 40 mph (64 kmh) |
3,000W | 45 mph (72 kmh) |
Unfortunately, HPC Revolution AT electric bike is already sold out. We contacted HPC and inquired if this e-bike would be in-stock again soon. They said they are uncertain if there will be something close to this e-bike in a few years.
HPC also offers the Revolution XX, a moped e-bike that travels as fast as 70 mph (112.7 kmh). However, this electric bike only uses 24” x 3” tires, which are not as wide as other fat tires, but are wider than regular tires. The Revolution XX is sold at $20,000, and, as of this writing, only three units left in stock.
